Our bilingual kindergarten is located directly at the U1 station Aderklaaerstraße and offers a 1000m² garden as well as spacious and friendly designed, modern rooms.
Welcome to our Kindergarten Citygate!
The kindergarten, which was newly opened in 2015, is located in a large residential complex directly next to the U1 station Aderklaaerstraße. Many of the children who attend the Kindergarten also live in the complex. The kindergarten has six spacious and friendly rooms and a 1000 m2 garden. The flower gardens in Hirschstetten and various playgrounds in the immediate vicinity also invite children to spend time in nature.
If the weather does not permit playing in the large garden area, then the large gym offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to move.
Everyday life in kindergarten
Our childs development over the years has been enchanting, and even now, when he will soon be starting school, I have the feeling that he will still benefit a lot - especially when it comes to independence. This is how I envision an educational partnership.

We get delivered nutritious and balanced food at lunchtime. We make sure that there are vegetarian options for children that do not eat meat, 1x weekly fish (organic) and 1x weekly meat (organic). A vegetarian option is also always available on meat days. At breakfast and snack time we make sure that there is a sufficient, variable offer of regional fruit and vegetables as well as fresh bread, cereals, milk (also a plant based milk version as an offer) and yoghurt.

We explore, discover, experiment and marvel. In the 2021/22 kindergarten year, we will devote more time to music and STEM subjects and learn about the world of programming and robotics. More information will follow soon.
Pedagogical concept
The kindergarten is run bilingually. This means that German as well as English is spoken in the daily routine and is reflected in the daily impulses. The children in all groups have access to didactic play materials that correspond to the age and developmental level of the children. The rooms can be used as cross groups and there are also cross-group activities, such as the cross-group activity for the children in the last year of kindergarten the so called “Ältestenrat“ (Translated into: "the council of elders").
The corridor is also made available and prepared for the children: For example, they can use the "children's office" in front of the office of the director, where you have the opportunity to withdraw from the group activity and type on the typewriter with a small number of children (a maximum of 4 children can use the children's office), enjoy quiet exercises or read books; in the hallway there is also the possibility to "drive a car" with the slide cars and perceive other offers.
Likewise, the director also also offers activities with the children in the last year of kindergarten, twice a week, which implies special activities onl for the preschool children.
Qualified educators
In a unique cooperation in Vienna, all kindergarten employees are trained by the child protection center „ die möwe.“
Supervision, ongoing training and professional support for the kindergarten teams goes without saying for our staff.

7:30 am - 5:00 pm
The toddler group closes at 5pm
Diakonie Education kindergartens close up to 30 days per year.
